Event Description

At this special pre-conference workshop, apprentices and mentor farmers participating in the North American Biodynamic Apprenticeship Program will gather for a full day of presentations, experiences, conversations, and shared exploration of how we can develop the potential of our human souls to meet the challenges present in our farming communities today.

The human soul acts as a bridge between self and world. Through its development, we can more intimately know ourselves and the other, whether the other is mineral, plant, animal, or another human being. This knowing fosters understanding and discernment, helping us to deepen and clarify everyday experiences and find opportunities to learn in every part of life. In this workshop we will explore ways to see through our preferences and habits to recognize what a given situation is asking of us, making space for new ideas and creative solutions to enter. Understanding and strengthening our soul capacities supports progression in our relationships with the natural world, between mentor and apprentice, on our farms, and in our wider communities.

The workshop will include conversation spaces specifically for apprentices and mentors to connect with their peers, as well as opportunities for mentors and apprentices to meet and converse with each other.

Thanks to support from generous donors, costs have been covered for NABDAP apprentices and mentor farmers to participate. Pre-registration is required: contact Anthony at nabdap@biodynamics.com for more information.
