Tahmiene Momtazi is the Winemaker at Maysara Winery, a winery, vineyard and event space owned and operated by the Momtazi Family in McMinnville, Oregon.

Tahmiene’s passion for winemaking was sparked when she attended the Northwest Salmon Bake event at the annual International Pinot Noir Celebration in McMinnville, Oregon for the first time. She found it enthralling to be surrounded by wine collectors who shared their love for wine and dedicated their time to creating a special vintage to share with wine lovers from around the world. Realizing she wanted to share that love of wine with others, she took up an internship at a local winery while at Linfield College and eventually transferred to Oregon State University where she graduated with a degree in food science and technology and a specialization in fermentation science.

In 2005, Tahmiene worked under Joe Wright at Belle Valle Cellars in Corvallis as a harvest intern. After assisting her family during harvest season in 2006, she was offered another intern position at Kim Crawford in New Zealand. She then returned back to her family’s estate where she has lead the winemaking process since the summer of 2007.
