Event Description

Featuring Steffen and Rachel Schneider

Our planet is in dire straits, facing multiple crises (climate, water, ecosystem diversity, pollution). Agriculture across the globe is facing huge challenges, needing to feed an ever-growing population. On the other hand, more awareness around agriculture and food has arisen in our part of the world in the last five to seven years and resulted in a very dynamic and burgeoning local agriculture and food movement. In light of these facts, there is an emerging need to look at agriculture and food in a radical new way, a complete "re-branding" and re-framing of our concepts and perceptions. One term for this emergent future is "Agriculture 3.0". In this workshop, Steffen and Rachel Schneider of Hawthorne Valley Farm will lead a discussion on how to reconnect civil society to agriculture as our common source of spiritual, cultural, economic, and ecological renewal.
