Bio

For over thirty years, both in Toronto and Nova Scotia, Camelia Frieberg worked as a film producer, director and writer. She is most well known for her longtime association with Atom Egoyan, serving as the producer of a number of Atom’s films including his Academy Award nominated “The Sweet Hereafter” and the multiple award winning “Exotica”. Most recently Camelia produced the documentary feature “Modified” with director Aube Giroux of PBS Food’s Kitchen Vignettes. The film has won 14 awards, played at over 60 film festivals internationally and recently won a James Beard Award for best feature documentary. For the past decade Camelia has been the farm owner and manager of Watershed Farm, a biodynamic mixed livestock and market garden located on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. She is presently transitioning the focus of the farm into a semester-long residential program for young adults that marries practical skills and responsible citizenship. She is the proud mother of two children, sits on the board of the South Shore Waldorf School and Kindergarten and enjoys her ongoing work with the school community in agriculture and sustainability.
