Klaus Merckens

Klaus works in biodynamic advisory services worldwide. He is an active member of the advisory steering committee at the Agricultural Section at the Goetheanum and member in the circle of representatives. He worked for 9 years in Egypt/SEKEM building up and managing the (Biodynamic association of Egypt). Since 1987 he has worked in biodynamic banana cultivation starting on the Canary Islands. Today he supports and works with many banana growers in the Caribbean, Colombia and Peru. He received his training on a Demeter Farm in south Germany and got an agronomist degree at Kassel University specializing in International Agriculture/tropical farming. An MBA in rural developed completed is studies. With over 35 years of international experience in more than 40 countries, Klaus combines agricultural know how with sound project management capabilities and experience.
