Trellis Center - Biodynamic Grower
Compensation: TBD, plus housing w/ utilities included
The Trellis Center in Ellensburg, WA is striving to find the most appropriate staffing structure to support the next phase of its evolution. We are seeking a Biodynamic Grower to help establish a sustainable business venture. Their primary duty and responsibility will consist of overseeing the operations of our new fully automated greenhouse facilities and outside small garden/field production areas. We’re looking for a person who is deeply committed to biodynamic agriculture and is energized by building relationships with people of all abilities.
Create and implement biodynamic greenhouse production plan, systems, and procedures.
Manage two greenhouses year round, along with 20 raised garden beds/small acreage crop production during summer growing season.
Plant Cultivation and Management
Business Management - Planning/Budgeting/Accounting - Coordinate farm related marketing including production sales, farmers markets, and festivals.
Monitor working conditions to ensure safe working environment.
Communication and Marketing Duties
Participate in weekly staff meetings and quarterly planning sessions with management team.
Certificate in biodynamic farming from the Biodynamic Association and/or a Degree in Agricultural Science, or other related field preferred.
Working ability to recognize and respond to problem situations according to established procedures; carry out specifically assigned tasks.
Ability to communicate with others, flexibility in daily activities and job responsibilities, team player, creativeness and a fun attitude.
Physically and mentally capable of performing the requirements.
