Communications Coordinator - Angelic Organics Learning Center, IL
The main role of this position is to tell compelling stories about the people and land impacted by AOLC’s programs.  We want Angelic Organics Learning Center to be a household name in our region and considered the go-to organization for bringing rural and urban people together to build a healthy local food system.
The Communications Coordinator is a team member in AOLC’s Communications and Resource Development departments. This staff position is assigned 50% to Communications and 25% to Resource Development.  This position writes for and
coordinates publications and communications tools, including but not limited to: biannual printed newsletter, monthly E-newsletters, annual report, AOLC website and blog, social media, and media outreach.

The Communications Coordinator will craft compelling written communications that serve to raise awareness of AOLC’s mission and programs among donors and potential supporters, program participants, partner organizations, and others throughout the northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin region.
The Communications Coordinator will work closely with three other members of the AOLC Communications & Development team to achieve department objectives. The Coordinator will assist with resource development tasks as assigned, including funder prospect research, database entry, and grant proposal writing and editing. Angelic Organics Learning Center has offices in Caledonia, Rockford, and Chicago, IL. The Communications Coordinator will have the opportunity to be based at one of these offices, with the additional possibility of working remotely or from home. Occasional travel to and from our program sites throughout northern Illinois will be necessary. The Communications Coordinator must be passionate about our mission of building sustainable communities, and bringing urban and rural people together to build a healthy local food system.
