Camp Glen Brook in rural New Hampshire, maintains a diversified biodynamic farm that produces food for summer campers and school groups much of the year. The camp has two Farmers In Training opportunities for young people who will assist the camp farmer for the summer months.
This hands-on educational opportunity entails helping in the operation of several greenhouses, planting, tilling and weeding more than an acre of farm garden, applying the BD preparations, tending farm animals, handling farm wastes, mulch and compost, processing fresh raw produce, maintaining farm tools and infrastructure, and the like.
Camp Glen Brook offers hands-on training, room and full board, and a $50 a week stipend. During the busy summer camp season, Farmers in Training work six days a week. Some additional weekend work is required on occasion.
