Green Goose Farm is a small family farm start-up that seeks to develop and promote a local food supply that addresses the issues of land stewardship, soil building, water catchment, animal welfare, heritage genetics, and carbon sequestration. General farming activities include care of sheep, pigs, and poultry.
The internship involves a combination of common labor (such as feeding, washing buckets, etc.) and high-level farming strategy and planning. The intern is expected to work well alone, utilizing their own judgment, and should be able to carry loads of 50lbs. The 10-acre farm is located in a setting of great beauty, outside the town of Petaluma, in Sonoma County California.
