Grangemockler Camphill Community is a life-sharing community with adults with special needs. Camphill Grangemockler is part of the international Camphill Movement. We are a charity organisation and have registered charity status in the Republic of Ireland (no: CHY5861).
Camphill Grangemockler provides a home and meaningful work for 17 residential adults with special needs and day workshops for 2 adults with special needs from the local area. We have four houses set on 50 acres in rural Ireland and together we run a farm, garden, and weaving workshop. Volunteers live in houses alongside our residents and thus they are able to share many aspects of life with them. Employees come in on a daily basis to work in a number of jobs.
Camphill Community Grangemockler is looking for an experienced farmer to take on the biodynamic farm at the heart of our community. The farm team, which is the workshop master supported by several young volunteers, looks after cattle incl. milking cows, sheep, pigs, chicken and turkeys as well as part of the 54 acres of land the community is built on and provides therapeutic work for many of the community members with special needs. Working as a team with the garden workshop master, there is plenty of maintaining to do plus a lot of opportunities for further development.
We are keen to hear from anyone with organic farming experience and enthusiasm who is interested in biodynamic methods and taking on the running of this beautiful, productive farm. Experience in social care desirable but not essential.
