Small Grants Available for Biodynamic Education/Research in Colorado

 

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

 

Sponsor:  Community Farm Development Initiative (CFDI)

 

Deadline:  April 15, 2013

Overview:  CFDI is looking to fund up to three proposals for a maximum of $5000 each.  The proposals need to focus on education and/or research involving:   Biodynamic Farming (highest priority); Organic Farming (second priority); or Sustainable Agriculture (third priority).  Projects must take place within Colorado.  One half of funds will be granted upon project approval and the remainder upon completion of the project.  Projects are to be completed by December 31, 2013.  All funds received from CFDI for the project must be matched in cash or in-kind services.

Application Requirements: All applications should contain the following information.

Project  Name.

Project Location. 

Project Contact.  Include name, e-mail address, phone, mailing address.

Project Participants.  A brief bio of each of the principal participants in the project.

Project Description:  A description of what will be done and if it involves biodynamic, organic, or sustainable agriculture.  If education the ages and number of people that will be impacted.  If research, explain the impact the study will have on future production within Colorado.  A project timeframe should also be included.

Amount requested, match and budget.  The maximum amount to be granted will be $5000.  Explain if the match will be cash and/or in-kind services and how such services will be documented.  Include a detailed budget which shows how grant money will be spent.

Submission.  All submissions should be emailed to lshannon@regis.edu by April 15, 2013.  The CFDI Board may request a meeting with the project contact if there are questions regarding the proposal.  Such meeting can occur by phone if the applicant is not available to meet in person.  It is Board’s intention to award all grants by April 30, 2013.
