The Temple-Wilton Community Farm is looking for a vegetable grower to join our operation for the 2014 season. The candidate chosen would work alongside the current grower, Anthony Graham, with a view to taking over from him in the next couple of years. We are looking for an individual experienced in vegetable production and the use of biodynamic methods and preparations.
The 140-acre farm is now in its 28th season as a year-round biodynamic CSA. We grow about 45 different varieties of vegetables and herbs for 105 member households. We cultivate six acres of produce, including large amounts of winter storage vegetables. The job involves all aspects of vegetable production.
The farm includes a dairy with 16 milking cows. In addition to raw milk, we sell yogurt and a wide range of cheeses to our members and to the public. We also raise laying hens, broilers and pigs, with eggs and meat sold year round. Whoever joins us as a vegetable grower would work in partnership with the two dairymen.
Every year we take in up to three apprentices to learn about biodynamic vegetable production and to help with all the work.
The farm is located in Wilton NH (zone 5) and is adjacent to the Pine Hill and High Mowing Waldorf schools.
