Farming Teacher at Credo High School - Rohnert Park, CA

As a stand-alone, public Waldorf high school, Credo receives graduates from nine K-8 Waldorf schools in our region, from Waldorf schools around the country, and from a growing number of local charter schools. Located in the heart of Sonoma County, less than an hour north of San Francisco and east of the Pacific Ocean, Credo is housed within SOMO Village, designed in partnership with the international nonprofit One Planet Communities, to be the model sustainable community in North America. Credo has a rich sustainability curriculum, and as a One Planet School adheres to ten rigorous sustainability principles (such as zero waste and all energy generated by solar). All Credo students are on a college-prep track, and graduation standards exceed rigorous University of California application requirements. Seventy percent of our graduates proceed directly to a four-year college. Credo boasts a robust and successful athletics program for girls and boys and an exemplary music program for all students. Clubs and extracurricular activities contribute to rich student life. Preferred applicants will hold relevant credentials or be willing and eligible to pursue appropriate credentials. Waldorf or Biodynamic training and experience is preferred. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include Kaiser health benefits for employees and dependents and participation in the California State Teachers Retirement System or the Public Employees Retirement System.

All ninth and 10th-grade students participate in practical art instruction that includes woodworking, blacksmithing, and farming. Credo has an indoor classroom, outside garden with a greenhouse, and a vision to develop a two-acre farm within walking distance from the main campus.
