Gardening Tips from a Biodynamic/Organic Perspective

Primary tabs

Jeff Poppen of Long Hungry Creek Farm will teach a series of four two-hour classes in Nashville 10AM-Noon on the second Saturdays for the next four months: March 10, April 14, May 12 and June 9. The suggested amount is $25 per class, though no one will be turned away for financial reasons.

The first class in March covers biology, minerals and tillage. In April, we’ll discuss methods, varieties, timing and companion planting. The May and June classes will held in a garden so we can experience planting, hoeing and stirring a biodynamic preparation. By June we’ll be laying the garden by and planning our fall crops. All classes will include question and answer periods.

"I’m often asked questions about gardening, and enjoy responding as best I can. Many of my students have far surpassed me in their knowledge and gardens, thank goodness. Through the years I’ve gradually developed a curriculum and am ready to share it with a wider audience," says Jeff.
