Michigan Organic Food and Farm Alliance Hosts the Organic Intensives, January 8th, 2022.

Since MOFFA held its first Organic Intensives in March, 2015, attendees have consistently found the sessions to be of greater than expected value. On January 8th, MOFFA will offer the seventh annual Organic Intensives educational event, providing current and future farmers, as well as serious gardeners and concerned consumers, an opportunity to focus intensely on subjects for which there is substantial interest and a desire to reach a level of deep understanding.

This year we will present three frequently requested topics: Organic Mushroom Cultivation and Management, In – Row Weed Control Strategies: Fine Tuning Equipment . . . The Details for Success, and The Farm Ecosystem: Managing for Pollinators, Beneficials, and Pests. Our presenters will be a mix of local experts, farmers, and producers. Find more information and a registration link on our website: https://www.moffa.net/oi-2022.html

Thanks to our sponsors, we have been able to keep the cost low at $85 for MOFFA members and $115 for non-members. The registration fee covers six hours of learning, comprehensive printed materials, lunch, breaks, a reception at the end of the day, and a great chance to network with fellow farmers and gardeners from across Michigan. Several scholarships are available for educators and for those for whom cost is a barrier; for information please email moffaorganic@gmail.com or call 248-262-6826.  A block of rooms has been reserved at the TownePlace Suites Marriott, 2855 Hannah Blvd., East Lansing, MI 48823, just one mile from the Plant and Soil Sciences building.  Room availability is only guaranteed through December 7th, but the conference rate of $109 per night continutes to be in effect; mention MOFFA when you call.  We suggest you contact the hotel as soon as possible at 517-203-1000 to be sure you get a room if you will need one.
