Sixth Annual Labor Day SEED FEST and Professional SEED WORKSHOP

Sept. 1-2-3 /// Meadowlark Hearth; Scottsbluff, NE, camping available for non local participants.

Come by Friday evening, to be ready to participate early Saturday morning, Sept 1st , 8 am -5 pm

for the Professional Seed Workshop and SUNDAY, Sept 2nd 8 am – 3: pm

This course is designed for experienced growers and farmers but we will welcome anyone interested in seed.  We'll focus on seed production techniques for many crops, learn how to initiate & carry out seed contracts and figure out how to weave Seed onto a working farm how to choose what to grow to seed in relation to your climate etc.  Come prepared with questions and expect many hands-on activities. You'll have the chance to see various small and mid-scale tools.

SEED FEST Dance and supper: Sunday, Sept 2nd evening: 4 pm dance on the seeds with live music, celebrating by dancing on the seed in order to thresh it Sunday evening:

Welcome to our Celebration of Seed! Always a hoot with a bean stomp with local live music and other fun threshing activities.   

Monday morning Sept 3rd 6:30 am-noon: watch milking and then join interesting projects harvesting seed and cleaning seed etc! An annual event where friends, family and local community come together to learn and share in our seed saving traditions.This will be an exciting and welcoming atmosphere for beginners and experienced folk alike.

2:00 looking at what Rudolf Steiner indicated about seed and its formation: 
from Human Being as the Symphony of the Creative Word AND The Spiritual Foundations of Agriculture

3:30, Eurythmy and singing followed by conversation about Future of Seed for US: finding community through seed
5:30 supper
7:-8:  wrap up and together summarizing our conversations and action plans
9: Star gazing, (points of light like seed) with Nathan for those interested
