Small-scale Orcharding for the homeowner

Brook Farm Orchard is the classroom for a four- part, four- season, day long workshop for folks who have or would like to have a small planting of fruit trees at their home. In late summer workshop #3 covers biodynamic foliar sprays, picking, ladder use, storage, processing, varietal tastings, sweet cider pressing (bring containers to fill and freeze) and local hard cider tastings. A delicious lunch is included in the workshop fee of $85 prepaid.

Brook Farm Orchard is a 100 tree fruit orchard using biodynamic methods established in 1986. Orchardist Alan Surprenant grows 35 varieties of apples, 5 varieties of peaches, 3 varieties each of pears, plums and asian pears which are sold retail at the Ashfield farmers market and thru a small fruit C.S.A. @ the farm.
