Part Time Farm Work Trade Position in Northern California at Three Springs Community Farm

2019 WORK-TRADE POSITION AVAILABLE AT BIODYNAMIC FARM NEAR BODEGA, CA

We are at the beginning stages of creating a Biodynamic educational farm serving a Bay Area Waldorf School community. We are seeking an individual or couple for work trade (part time) in exchange for trailer housing on our beautiful, rural 80-acre ranch, for a minimum of 8-10 months. Other amenities include harvesting from our Biodynamic garden and use of a shared outdoor kitchen and wood fired oven and our large barn.

The main work will be milking and tending to our dairy goats. The remaining hours can be tailored to suit your skills and interests, and could include nursery work, farm site preparation, irrigation installation, annual vegetable cultivation, carpentry, trail work, school group teaching or administrative work. You should be comfortable working alone (with ample direction), or in teams with the farm manager, other work-traders &/or WWOOFers.

At least one season of farm work and goat tending is preferred, but a willingness to learn will suffice. Negotiable work schedule. Some weekend animal husbandry shifts expected. If we mutually decide it is a good fit, there will be a two week live-in trial period, after which a deposit will be required to complete the agreed upon contract term. Transitioning to a full time Apprenticeship position will be possible for 2020 if desired.

The property has a secluded feel yet is 15 minutes from Sebastopol. Our ranch includes open meadows, wooded hills suitable for hiking, beautiful redwood groves, creeks, springs and a pond. It is home to a small herd of dairy goat, two pigs, chickens and a guard donkey, with farm fields currently under development for production in 2020.
