Call for Posters for the Symposium on Biodynamic Research (Organic World Congress – OWC)

Call for Posters for the Symposium on Biodynamic Research (Organic World Congress – OWC)

|   Research

We believe that biodynamic farmers are scientists on their own. They do a lot of practical research, experiments and have gained significant expertise in how agriculture can be improved in the near future. Therefore, we call upon these scientists and local experts to share their experiences during a poster exhibition.

During the Organic World Congress in Rennes, the Section for Agriculture at the Goetheanum will host together with Mouvement de l'Agriculture Bio-Dynamique (MABD) and the Biodynamic Federation Demeter International (BFDI) a pre-conference between 21.-22.09.2020.

The Symposium on Biodynamic Research with the topic “The Farm Organism as a Holistic Approach?” will cover a broad spectrum of different presentations and discussion groups. The main objective is to promote research in biodynamics.

We believe that biodynamic farmers are scientists on their own. They do a lot of practical research, experiments and have gained significant expertise in how agriculture can be improved in the near future. Therefore, we call upon these scientists and local experts to share their experiences during a poster exhibition.

The main topic for the poster exhibition is practical research on the farm organism, including sub-themes, such as, but not exclusively:

  • How biodiversity and animals can become an integral part of the farm?
  • How the (socio-) geography and surrounding landscape (terroir) influences and interacts with the farm?
  • How closing cycles (e.g. nutrients, carbon, water) support healthy soil and farm production?
  • How social interactions and individual farmers shape the structures and design of a farm?

The posters should include a short introduction with the geographical and structural context of the farm. Further, the research question and relevance to meet the current challenges of humanity should be described. The methodology and approach used to pursue the research question, the research results and a short outlook on how this research can be used for other farmers in the region or worldwide round the poster up. Pictures and pictograms are welcomed to illustrate your results.

Posters should be handed in DIN AO format (84.1 x 118,9 cm) or upon agreement. For readability, main titles should have a text size of 100 pt, subtitles 50 pt and text 25 pt. Preferable language is English, but others will not be excluded.
