Sunfield Farm Description:
Sunfield Education Association is a threefold organism comprising Biodynamic Farm, Waldorf School, and Community Education programming. The 81 acre property is composed of 26 acres of forest, 42 acres of field and pasture, 8 acres of wetland, and 5 acres of Waldorf school campus and farmer housing. Sunfield is located in Port Hadlock on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State and iis a non-profit corporation with 501(c)3 status guided by the work of Rudolf Steiner.
Job Description:
Sunfield is seeking an assistant farmer to join the farm staff, which includes: farm director, farm educator, and handyperson. The assistant farmer will work with the group and independently, as well as with volunteers. This is a year round, full time position, with a variable weekly work schedule that may include evening and weekend hours. The successful candidate is expected to live on-site, and housing, including utilities. Training will be provided, and new enterprise refinement and development is encouraged after the first year of employment. Farming practices are inspired by biodynamic regenerative agriculture. Two years plus agriculture experience and applicants seeking long term employment preferred.
