The Biodynamic Winter Intensives are two-week courses held each February for farmers, gardeners, and those seeking a working relationship with the living land. During each Winter Intensive, The Nature Institute and Hawthorne Valley Farm Learning Center offer two complementary weeks of instruction for those wishing to gain a fuller understanding of Biodynamic agriculture.
In even years (2012, 2014...) the intensives focus on “Plants, Earth and Cosmos,” and in odd years (2011, 2013...) the theme is "Animals, Humanity and the Living Context of Agriculture." NABDAP apprentices must attend both weeks of the intensives for two consecutive years to meet the classroom study requirement for graduation.
