We are a mixed livestock subsistence 160 acre farm, 60 acres, tillable. Our farm is working towards self-sufficiency and complete sustainability. We use mostly hand tools and horses. Our far is run completely without electricity. Feed water is provided by the waterpumping windmill. We are looking for folks interested in learning about farming with horses, raising animals, raising grain and produce in a sustainable low tech lifestyle.
We are seeking 2 interns for the season that will run from May 15, 2007-Oct 30, 2007. No experience is required but a strong desire to live a simple, self reliant life style is a must. Interns will help with daily animal care, organic gardening, grain raising, logging, laying, and ongoing building projects. Interns will live in their own farm house next door to ours.
