The SANKANAC CSA is looking for Garden Apprentices who seek practical as well as theoretical training in Biodynamic Agriculture and who wish to commit to a two-year apprenticeship program. Our 15-acre Demeter certified garden is comprised of a diverse mix of vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit and livestock. Our 10-person crew includes apprentices, seasonal interns, as well as some individuals with disabilities.
Apprentices will be involved in all aspects of running the 200-member CSA, and will gain extensive practical training by working alongside experienced mentor farmers. The theoretical component to the apprenticeship will include: monthly biodynamic training seminars at the Pfeiffer Center, regional farm tours and lecture series, weekly study groups on biodynamic agriculture and Anthroposophy. Apprentices will receive room and board as well as a stipend of $130/month. Participants may be eligible for AmeriCorps Education Awards.
