Ranch Manager, Hawaii

We are seeking a Ranch Manager to manage and oversee all activities on a 14,000 acres family-owned ranch in Hawaii. Activities of the Ranch include a grass fed cattle operation, a biodynamic/organic farm and orchard and an agro-tourism/conference facility. The ranch staff includes a farm supervisor, cowboy, hospitality manager, head of maintenance and an office manager who report directly to the Ranch Manager, as well as six other staff.

In addition to overseeing the farm and livestock operations and all aspects of land stewardship, the Ranch Manager is responsible for the activities of the entire ranch which includes overseeing staff levels, expense control, grant applications and public relations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in sustainable land stewardship, as well as good people management, and personnel skills. A working knowledge of all ranching systems, including water systems, is also essential.

We are looking for a resourceful manager, who has in-depth experience with organic farming (ideally in Hawaii or a semi-tropical climate) animal husbandry, and a commitment to the principles of sustainability who is able to coordinate and motivate the staff towards accomplishment of the goals as defined by the owner.
