Lifelong Farmer John Peterson manages Angelic Organics, a Community Supported Agriculture farm since 1991 located in northern Illinois, now serving more than 1,700 families. Peterson is the subject of Taggart Siegel’s feature documentary film The Real Dirt on Farmer John. In 2006, John’s first book was published, Farmer John’s Cookbook: The Real Dirt on Vegetables. He currently has two books in development: I Didn't Kill Anyone Up Here and Farmer John on Glitter and Grease. Peterson helped to found the Angelic Organics Learning Center in 1999 and also helped to found his region's CRAFT initiative in the mid-90s. On December 4, 2010, John married Haidy El-Gendy (now Haidy Peterson) from Finland. John and Haidy share a passionate interest in Rudolf Steiner's work.
