Julie Dawson is a postdoctoral research associate at Cornell University working with farmers to develop varieties of wheat, emmer, and einkorn for organic farming systems. Previously, she worked at the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique in France, with Dr. Isabelle Goldringer, where she contributed to the creation of a participatory plant breeding program led by an association of organic and biodynamic farmers, the Réseau Semences Paysannes (farmers' seed network). She received her PhD from Washington State University, working with Dr. Stephen Jones on organic and participatory wheat breeding.
