Osiris Abrego grew up in Panama, where she was actively involved with the management and seasonal activities of her family’s ranch. She discovered biodynamic agriculture in 2003 while attending a workshop held at the Josephine Porter Institute (JPI), where she later became a staff member. Osiris recognizes the possibility for social change through an appreciation for the work done by individuals who care for the land. Her work in Costa Rica, with Peter Proctor in India, and on different farms, has allowed her to work with diverse agricultural communities in ways that support the development of healthy farming practices and the strengthening of farming communities. Osiris holds an awareness and respect for the work of farmers and an enthusiasm for communication, education, and participation that empowers farmers and workers and heals community.
