Adam started farming at age 19, seeing farming as a profession where he would not have to leave where he grew up - Mendocino County. He started Mendocino Organics at Frey Vineyards and a neighboring property in Redwood Valley, CA, first raising pigs and vegetables. Over the years, he tried out raising various livestock, poultry, and crops. In 2008, he moved the farm to Heart Arrow Ranch, a 2,000-acre ranch owned by Golden Vineyards and overlooking Redwood Valley. With his wife, he raises lamb, pork, beef, hay, and vegetables for sale. He is a Board Member of the Ukiah Natural Foods Co-op and provides farm consulting services to small-scale food producers around the county.
