John and Diana Warring established Warring Family Farm in 2020 as self-taught homesteaders with a mission of restoring natural systems while producing nutrient-dense food for their family and community. They implement regenerative farming, biodynamic soil management, rotational grazing, permaculture, agroforestry, and agroecological principles on 20 acres while growing their small farm and business.

Patrick Dodson workshop leader has been asking regenerative and biodynamic agriculture questions since 2015. He started making preparations in 2017 and has been applying them in residential areas since. He's worked with landscaping in Richmond, VA for over 40 years. He started teaching basic preparation making in 2020. He's currently teaching introductory classes in biodynamics to gardeners and farmers. He currently lives and works in Accomac on biodymamic Perennial Roots Farm.

Making Barrel Compound can add a whole new source of Vitality and capacity to the garden or farm. Starting with the unlikely gift of a cows manure used for centuries wherever they roam, the cow's manure is a source of living enzymes, organic material ready for the hungry and hardened soil, and the microbiology found there. We also add biodynamic preps made of 6 specific herbs for all of their life giving properties to soil, plant, and the life found around and therein the earth. We also add basalt and eggshell to give mineral and elemental presence to this super earth food. We cure the mixture in a pit for 3-6 months leaving it somewhat open to the air for local fungi to enter for their participation and then its finished. It can be used as a spray and as a soil amendment for both seed starting and transplanting of anything. It has profound rescue capacity for both soil and seed! A profound substance not found in nature, but a regenerative gift giving nature back to Earth herself.
