Bio

Travis is currently a student in the Biodynamics Foundations Training program, entering his 6th year as a first-generation farmer. He has worked and studied on farms in Ohio, Montana, Germany, Austria, Pennsylvania, and most recently in New Mexico, where he helped to manage crop production and pasture rotation for a herd of magical Nubian dairy goats. He completed an undergraduate degree from the Ohio State and Salzburg Universities, leveraging International Relations and German Language majors to guide his journey throughout Europe and broaden his perspectives. The introduction to a multitude of deep-rooted food and farming traditions thriving on the European continent left an everlasting imprint, and he took special note of the synonymous connections to high-quality food, soil, nature, music, and beer shared amongst the German and Austrian cultures. Discovering the works of Rudolf Steiner and the Demeter Federation challenged his understanding of agriculture in the modern American context, and the rest is history. He is also an Army NCO veteran and former Arabic linguist, now moving on to greener pastures to continue growing and begin assisting the next class of young farmers.
