Dana Burns has worked as a conventional veterinarian, a holistic veterinarian (including anthroposophic medicine), a farm-based educator, and at several positions with Uriel Pharmacy. She ran A Week on the Farm for 10 years. In 2009 AWOTF transformed into MaaViva, an organization that supports sustainable agriculture, self sufficiency, and wildlife preservation in Africa. The farm-based education portion of AWOTF turned into a farm-based educator support organization that became FBEIBA (Farm Based Educators Inspired by Anthroposophy)—a project of the Biodynamic Association. Currently Dana is working towards ensuring the continuity of a multigenerational family farm that is managed biodynamically. The farm is approximately 20 miles east of Sunrise Ranch, along the Big Thompson River, in an area of almost unimaginable development pressure!
