The High Mowing Waldorf Scchool located in Southern New Hampshire is interviewing canidates for our 2013-14 growing season. We are a small scale biodynamic vegetable and herb garden that provides produce, eggs and meat to our on-site Dining Hall. The campus is a boarding school that serves over a 130 meals a day to our students, faculty, support staff and public. We are currently applying to become a participant in the North American Biodynamic Apprenticeship Program. Apprentices would join our Farmer and Garden Manager in the daily tasks of: greenhouse management, garden bed layout, transplanting, direct seeding, setting up and managing irrigation, weeding, mulching, thinning, harvesting and post harvest handling. This list in not inclusive of the numerous tasks that present themselves as the days unfold. Aprrentices will also learn about designing a small scale biodynamic garden and the practical implementation of systems that precipitate the managing of finances, crops and staffing. As a farm we meet with neighboring biodynamic farmers to study Steiners Agricultural Lectures. We will also be reading and reflecting in our work the philosophy of Masanobu Fukuoka. Our work is physical, repetitive and time sensitive and in need of whole heartedness from those who desire to participate. We provide full room and board for the season(June-August) dates can be flexible. Our campus is beautiful and we have facilities that enhance daily living: outdoor pool, tennis courts, gym and expansive trails and rivers and the ocean is 65 miles due east.
