Seasonal Field Operations Manager, Feb-Nov 2024
Newly emerging Stellar Roots Herb Farm is seeking a Self-motivated and Earth-inspired Farm Manager for field work and general farm tasks.
Field Work is Primary responsibility. Position works with Farm Managing Director to plan and execute all aspects of annual and perennial plant propagation. Responsible for carrying out field and garden tasks, such as soil preparation, weed eating, pruning, planting, harvesting, washing, drying and packing herbs and more. Responsible for leading volunteers in farm-based tasks.

- Learn methods of Organic and Biodynamic farming, Herbalism, Geomancy, Ecology, connecting with nature spirits and so much more
Qualifications:
- Organic and/ or Biodynamic Farming Experience desired
- A plus if you have grown medicinal herbs and/ or are familiar with plants local to the Appalachian region.
- In good physical condition and able to work outside in sometimes challenging conditions (heat, excess moisture) is necessary
- Ability to strategize towards larger goals and also addresses day to day tasks
- Able and willing to make organized notes of daily tasks for Organic Certification
- A passion for farming and love of the Earth is essential
- Willingness or desire to work alone and with others- our staff is limited as we are growing!
- Must be clean, tidy and respectful of space! Your living space includes a shared kitchen and bath in Farm Operations HQ.
- Personable and able to engage about farming to visitors
Position is 9 months from mid February 2024 – mid November 2024
Salary up to $30 per hour, based on experience, room negotiable
Expected to work 30 hours per week with 12 days paid summer holiday
