Meadowlark Hearth Farm is having their annual seed festival on Sept 4.  It is a day of hands on with the mainly 8 vegetable families often grown in northern temperate climates i.e. harvesting, threshing, cleaning and generally accessing information about vegetable seed growing including biennials as well as annuals  in thinking about isolation and population for seed variety integrity.  The uniqueness about MH's work is with biennials, finding ways to overwintering biennials to grow to seed in a zone 4 climate. See this link for what we have done successfully:

The MH 2022 Seed Festival is sponsored by Meadowlark Hearth Living Environment Foundation. and the event is free. There is rustic camping available on our farm as well as food from our Biodynamic/organic gardens and farm.  We do incur costs and attendees may donate to MHLEF but are not required to attend.

Please see the attached flyer as well.

Please RSVP so we can send you a specific schedule of our activities on Sept 4.

Please note that Meadowlark Hearth Farm is looking for young people with a passion and capacity for seed growing  with the ability to appreciate the resources of this dry seed growing land and climate being made available here to go forward with the important work for open pollinated vegetable seed varieties.  We would be grateful for any sharing with such groups and individuals!
