Then we'll chat with local food champions about their efforts. Thursday 4/1 1:00 - 3:30 pm - Session 2: Food is Medicine Join us for a day dedicated to learning how healthy, local food nourishes and heals, and how our minds and bodies are connected in ways we are just learning to unpack. Speakers include: Lori J. Johnson, BSN, RN, CDCES Program Manager, UPMC Western Maryland Center for Clinical Resources; Theresa Stahl, RDN, LDN, FAND, Nutrition Consultant and Mind-Body Medicine Practitioner; Lisa McCoy, MS, RDN, Senior Agent, Western Region, Family and Consumer Sciences - Healthy Living, University of Maryland Extension.
Thursday 4/8 1:00 - 3:30 pm - Session 3: Food Access Join us for a day dedicated to learning how efforts are underway to help our neighbors in need access healthy foods. Then we'll have a special guided community dialog, titled, "Eat. Learn. Council." Speakers include: Caitlin Misiaszek, Program Officer, Food Communities and Public Health, Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future; Amy Moyer, Executive Director, Western Maryland Food Bank, Inc.; Dena Leibman, Executive Director, Future Harvest; Dr. Diane McMahon, Associate Professor of Sociology and Faculty Director of the College to Community Partnership at Allegany College of Maryland; Dr. Elesha Ruminski, Professor, Communication Studies and Coordinator, Leadership Studies Minor and Communication Leadership Lab at Frostburg State University.
