 Learn how Locust Dale Cattle Company developed their summer annual grazing plot and impllemented temporary infrastructure for improved cattle grazing rotations.

Join the Virginia Forage and Grassland Council (VFGC) and American Farmland Trust (AFT) for an evening pasture walk with John Paul Visosky at the Locust Dale Cattle Company’s summer annual forage plot on the border of Culpeper and Madison counties in the Northern Piedmont. Jacob Gilley of American Farmland Trust will describe the plot design highlighting the several different summer annual species and mixes along with innovative modifications made to permanent infrastructure to improve grazing intensity and utilization. AFT will also be revealing it’s new “Corralling Conservation” initiative with a live cattle demonstration using a portable OK Corral. This event is free.
