Event Description

A self-contained farm can create health and vitality on the land and quality food for the community. Trying to create the modern biodynamic farm in today’s social and economic context is challenging but not impossible. Learn about Adam and Paula’s progress in achieving this goal, and how you can apply basic principles to your own operation. We incorporate producing livestock (cows, sheep, and pigs), feed (pasture and grain) and food (meat, fruits/vegetables, wine grapes and olives for oil) into a self-sustaining system that renews the soil’s fertility. This also provides diverse sources of income for the economic sustainability of the farm. Through community support and both novel and traditional land tenure arrangements, we can develop our farm organism, achieve an appropriate scale of production, and foster rewarding social relationships.
