Entrepreneur/Farmer/Farm & Forest School Educator

We are looking for people to join our farm community in Nova Scotia, Canada. We want to expand our farm and forest school towards a three day a week Waldorf mixed co-op and drop-off program.

For more details see our website  https://www.ursafarm.ca/

We are looking for families or people who wish to live in community rooted in anthroposophical work and biodynamic agriculture. The current Waldorf-inspired farm and forest school on our 60 acre farm is currently one day a week, but we are currently adding a kindergarten age group as well. You do not have to be a trained teacher, but knowledge or a background in Waldorf education is an asset. We cannot offer full-time which is needed to support a work permit (for people moving from outside Canada), but there are local job opportunities that would offer this.

We are working towards a shared ownership model for the farm and land. The land available could be used for a seperate homestead, market garden, or we could collaberate on the existing farm. There is possibility for purchase, lease or rent, and agreements would be made for shared farm and resources use. Currently we have a small herd of beef and dairy cows, garden, century apple orchard and permaculture gardens, sheep, turkeys and chickens. There is a large century barn, and various outbuildings, an indoor school/community space as well. We celebrate festivals throughout the year, host workshops and events, and are connected with the anthroposophical society branch in Nova Scotia.

If you think you might be interested in the teacher position, working/living on the farm, being part of our community, or starting your own suitable enterprise that contributes to the community (e.g. bakery, store, market garden, etc.), please reach out to ursa.farmstead@gmail.com. Let us know if you would like more information. You can also find us on social media Ursa Farm, and Ursa Farm & Forest School, as well as our website www.ursafarm.ca
