NewLedo Exploration Hub, an 18 acre former dairy farm, 3 miles east of Newport is creating a live/work innovation hubfor climate conscious practitioners in farming, energy, waste to value and architecture. This spring we’re launching alive/work opportunity for an emerging /startup regenerative farmer. We're particularly interested in those entering farmingwith a need to hone their skills and business model. Some possible focus areas include biointensive farming within ahigh tunnel or growing of specialized crops such as mushrooms.
The resident farmer would be allocated 2 acres of land, a dedicated area in our 150' barn, access to the woodshopand use of a high tunnel. They would be provided a bedroom in the 5 bedroom farm house and access to all communalamenities including wifi, kitchen and laundry. They would be allowed to curate the selection of crops and retain allrevenue from the sale of grown products.
The farmer would be able to host visitors to see their operation, lead a workshop or hold an event. And the participating farmer would be welcomed to participate in other activities happening at the farm and be partof our small but growing community.
