Who: A gathering of regional winery and vineyard associations, engaged grower and vintner leaders, and others committed to the sustainability of their local vineyards, wineries, and regions.

What: Learn some of the driving forces behind consumers’ and wine buyers’ increasing interest in sustainable winegrowing. Hear from programs around the country who have embraced sustainability and the many benefits for their region’s growers and vintners. Be inspired with new ideas on how to bring sustainability education and outreach to your region’s vineyards and wineries.

Fall Michaelmas Meeting

Saturday-Sunday, September 28th - 29th:Many thanks to Live Power Community Farm for hosting our Michaelmas Meeting in Covelo this fall. Live Power farms 50 acres using solar energy and horse-drawn ploughing.  They cultivate vegetable gardens and care for a variety of animals.  CSA members receive weekly baskets of biodynamic vegetables grown on the farm.  Gloria and Stephen Decater have educated countless apprentices, farmers and school children about biodynamic agriculture. 

Come join us for a weekend at Blossoms Farm (http://www.blossomsfarm.com/) in Corralitos, CA! We will be deepening in the arts of biodynamic agriculture, eurythmy, and anthroposophy. Enzo Nastati, who has been a biodynamic farmer and researcher for decades, will be headlining from Italy (http://www.vivalavidafoundation.org/enzo.html).

Harald Hoven, master biodynamic teacher, will still be present who will be teaching about preparation making, horn manure and silica -along with the Nevada County Biodynamic Group and giving a talk on Elevating Nature to Culture.

Overcome parenting difficulties by gaining understanding about developmental needs and by learning creative parenting skills that can help make your family life more simple.

3 Thursday evening sessions based on age groups. Attend one or all:

The Early Years (0-7) FEB 28, 7-8:30 pm
Learn how to deal with difficult behaviors, temper tantrums, nightmares, separation anxiety, and the disappointed child.

Learn about the birds flying through your farm and how they might be a benefit to your operation. Hear from and connect with innovative farmers, avian researchers, and other experts about practices that attract beneficial birds for pest control and manage pest birds. In addition, participate in a demonstration hedgerow planting and learn how this habitat can benefit your farm. You will gain valuable experience in planning for practices aimed at attracting beneficial birds and other natural enemies.
