Lacto-fermentation is a traditional means to preserve vegetables and fruits, used by people for thousands of years. Learn the basic principles of this ages-old, simple and fun preservation method by getting hands-on with sauerkraut and seasonal vegetables. In this class you will learn everything you need to know to get started fermenting vegetables at home. Samples and tastings of fermented vegetables will be served. Everyone will leave with at least one jar of kraut and a new appreciation for the role of the microbes living all around (and in) us! For beginner to intermediate fermentation enthusiasts.
