Production Specialist
24-32 hours/week, Monday – Thursday, temp-to-perm, year-round position. This is an hourly position with benefits that include paid time off, a generous product stipend and a beautiful, unique work environment.
Avena Botanicals is a small business in Midcoast Maine providing high quality, handmade herbal products from seed to bottle. We are an herbal apothecary that has offered a variety of hand-crafted herbal remedies for over 35 years. Most of our products are made with herbs grown and hand-harvested from our own biodynamic, organic gardens in Rockport, Maine.

The Production Specialist is primarily responsible for prioritizing and meeting the various needs of order fulfillment in our Shipping Department. Daily tasks include: managing orders and printing packing slips in Ship Station, pulling products to fulfill orders, packaging and shipping orders, maintaining inventory of shipping supplies, keeping up to date on shipping rules and regulations, and communicating frequently with Customer Service. In addition, the Production Specialist will support the work other departments including bottling, labeling, operating production and labeling machinery, completing cGMP documentation, helping maintain current inventories, and production kitchen tasks, depending on the priorities of production as a whole.
We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, basic computer knowledge, who is comfortable with performing repetitive tasks and is able to lift up to 20lbs. Must be comfortable communicating in a group setting with grace and respect. Some herbal experience and/or an interest in herbs preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
