We are looking for people who wish to join our farm community in Nova Scotia, Canada.
We are in the early stages of finding people who wish to live in intentional community rooted in anthroposophical work and biodynamic agriculture. We have started a small, but growing, Waldorf-inspired farm and forest school on our 60 acre farm, and we are in need of another facilitator this fall. You do not have to be a trained teacher, but knowledge or a background in Waldorf education is an asset.
We also have land available for the possibility of purchase, lease or rent, and agreements would be made for shared farm and resources use. Currently we have a small herd of beef and dairy cows, garden, old orchard and permaculture gardens, sheep, turkeys and chickens. There is a large barn, and various outbuildings, a large school/community space as well. We celebrate festivals throughout the year, host workshops and events, and are connected with the anthroposophical society in Nova Scotia.
If you think you might be interested in the teacher position, working on the farm, being part of our community, or starting your own suitable enterprise that contributes to the community (e.g. bakery, store, market garden, etc.), please reach out to ursa.farmstead@gmail.com. Let us know if you would like more information. You can also see some of what we are doing on our facebook and instagram pages, Ursa Farm, and Ursa Farm & Forest School.
