Spring Gathering - The Innocent Dandelion

We will gather at the land of BrennaMae Thomas-Googins and Brandon McKenney among their 70 acres of fields and forest. They grow annual and perennial vegetables as well as goats, pigs and chickens....and dandelions. We will be paying homage to our harbinger of Spring, the dandelion. As Steiner describes these precious flowers in Agriculture Lecture Five: "Innocent yellow dandelion! Truly this dandelion is a kind of messenger of Heaven" We will share Steiner's writings on the topic and discuss other readings we have done on the dandelions' connection to the cosmos, its history, its message in nature, its medicinal properties, the Biodynamic Dandelion Preparation, and its archetype. This is the time of year we will all be gathering and drying dandelions from our fields and gardens to use later for making the Biodynamic Dandelion Preparation when we gather in October. In April you will receive a reminder on how to properly gather the flowers and dry them. You will also receive a list of optional readings and I ask everyone to forward suggested readings to me either as a link to an article or a book title. Anyone who would like to do a dandelion presentation or demonstration please contact me by May 1.
All meetings will start with a potluck and it was agreed we begin with a song or poem to honor the planets.
