A recent restructuring has taken place that has not only given back to the Biodynamic Association its independent legal and spiritual identity (read more here), but has also transformed the Demeter Biodynamic Alliance into the "Alliance of Biodynamic Organizations," or ABO.
The purpose of the ABO is to foster trust, collaboration, and strategic alignment among key organizations and groups serving the biodynamic movement. This new organization includes representatives from the Biodynamic Association, Demeter USA, and the North American Agriculture Section, as well as the Fellowship of Preparation Makers and the Josephine Porter Institute for Applied Biodynamics. In time we hope to include many groups and organizations in the membership of the ABO.
The key difference between the former Biodynamic Demeter Alliance and the new Alliance of Biodynamic Organizations is that the new Alliance does not subsume any of the identifies or functions of its member organizations. All of its members are independent entities in their own right. This way the ABO can be solely focused on fostering trust and collaboration among its members.
Many structures and processes for the ABO are still being put into place, but we feel confident that this new approach will serve the biodynamic movement well for many decades to come. Indeed, we have already seen much fruit come from the closer working together of representatives of these different groups and organizations. Don't hesitate to reach out to one of the organizing members of the new ABO listed below if you have feedback, suggestions, or questions.
