In this special half-day workshop, we will review the basics of how to create conditions in which our bees can thrive, including hive location, forage, managing Varroa, and deterring bears. Then we’ll cover essential springtime tasks: Assessing hive strength, recognizing problems, supering, and making splits. Weather permitting, we’ll spend most of the day with several different hives in our gardens.
