Winter 2015/2016 Training for DemeterLOCAL Chapter

A new TN/KY Chapter is forming to work together over the coming months to learn the Biodynamic Demeter Standard and to begin peer visits to each other’s operations in 2016.

DemeterLOCAL’s goals are to encourage Biodynamic farming and certification and to promote the growth of regional Biodynamic food sheds. DemeterLOCAL accomplishes these goals by fostering farmer and consumer education, empowering peer-to-peer certification, and localizing the administrative requirements resulting in a more cost effective education and certification program.

Biodynamics: Secrets of the Soil

Growing organically is great, but it only scratches the surface of how deeply interconnected all the forces that go into plant and animal growth really are. Discover the atmospheric factors critical to plant growth, the growth gestures of plants, the role of lunar cycles and how biodynamics channels this knowledge into a holistic, closed system free from dependence on external inputs.  Enjoy a thorough introduction to biodynamic preparations and explore the intimate connections between soil and sky, animal and plant.
