2-Year Biodynamic Beekeeper Training Program: Session 1

Spikenard Farm Honeybee Sanctuary and its educational program was founded on the realization that the most important, relevant, and healing change we can make to the world of beekeeping and the world at large starts with us. If we do not change our exploitative mindset from one that asks, "What can we get out of the bees", to one that asks, "What can we do for the bees", then we will continue to sink deeper into our current crises. It is very easy to pin the blame of honeybee collapse on pesticide companies, housing developments, the varroa mite, climate change, etc.

2014 Slow Money Gathering

Slow Money 2014 in Louisville

Since our inaugural national event in 2009, Slow Money gatherings have emerged as a significant new venue for field building, investing, and social change. The events feature food entrepreneurs who are leading the way rebuilding local food systems, along with many renowned thought leaders in agriculture, investing, and philanthropy.

We’re very pleased that this year’s event is being planned in collaboration with Wendell Berry’s daughter Mary, Executive Director of the recently formed Kentucky-based Berry Center.
