Kelly Hanks is currently in her second year teaching “Nature Studies and Agriculture Arts” to Grades 1 through 8 at Meadowbrook Waldorf School in Rhode Island. As both a Waldorf-trained and environmental studies-trained teacher, Kelly loves to share her passion for the natural world and gardening with kids of all ages. Kelly just finished the year-long course in biodynamics at the Pfeiffer Center in New York and is excited to bring these elements to her school community.

Kelly has two young daughters with her farmer husband from France, who they raise on her family's fourth-generation farm. She was raised exploring the foothills and tide pools of California as a child and the plains and high deserts of Colorado as a teenager before heading to the East Coast for her undergraduate and graduate work. Kelly will be bringing her wide experience of leading school groups in the outdoors through all four seasons as well as teaching yoga classes for children, to share her passion for the arts, games, gardening, fairies, mud, food, and everything in between!
